Briquettes
Every process in my workshop produces saw dust, shavings or chippings. Until recently, I have sadly only been able to dispose of these in landfill, but I have now invested in a briquetting machine to convert all of this waste into fuel.
Briquettes are the most eco-friendly way to have a fire at home. Suitable for log burners, open fires, chinineas and firepits.
These briquettes are formed using several tonnes of hydraulic pressure, there are no additives, glues or chemicals used in their production. They are made from 100% hardwood shavings.
These briquettes can be used on their own or combined with logs. They are incredibly dense and high energy, so burn more like coal than logs, giving out a huge amount of heat as they glow.
Available for collection from my Wigston (Leicestershire) workshop:
12KG sacks £10 each or 3x for £25
10kg postal boxes are available through my webshop here for £17.50, delivered anywhere in the UK
Instructions for use:
Start your fire in your usual way, using kindling, once the initial flames have died down a little, add your briquettes. As they burn, they will expand and glow like coal. The size of your fire or stove will dictate how many to put on. You should experiment to find the best amount for your fire. They do expand as they burn, so don’t overload your fire.
