Treatex Hardwax oil, hardwearing finish for wood products

Description

A natural blend of oils and waxes that produces a hard-wearing, soft satin finish. Easy to apply and my personal favourite finish. Available in a 1-litre tin for larger projects such as furniture, worktops or flooring and now available in a new smaller 125ml size, perfect for the smaller user and hobbyist, allowing you to always have fresh hardwax oil for your project.

I am now stocking the small 125ml tins of ‘soft white’ hardwax oil which has an added white pigment that will help keep pale timbers such as Sycamore, Maple and Beech from warming too much under oil. Soft white is a satin finish, very similar to the ‘soft satin’ and can be used just the same as the standrd hardwax oil, with three or four coats applied to achieve a hard wearing finish.

Application: Hardwax oil can be applied with a brush, paper towel or, my personal favourite is by massaging it into the wood with gloved hands. I apply a liberal amount, working it well into the grain before wiping off the excess with clean paper towel. Three or four coats will leave a beautiful natural sheen on your work. I use the dome buffing brush mounted on the lathe to bring it to a deeper, more lustrous finish.
