This thread adaptor is designed to fit the Wadkin RS spindle nose, which is an awkward 1 3/8″ x 6tpi Whitworth thread, and converts it to an industry standard M33 thread to accept your preferred manufacturer’s chuck. Unlike standard thread adaptors, this has been uniquely designed with a 2MT tapered hole to accept your drive centres so there’s no need to ever remove it, with the added bonus that it acts as an extension, giving more working room at the headstock. Plated to prevent rust and drilled to take a C-spanner to help with removal.
I have thoroughly tested this adaptor and turning the usual mix of projects, I have found no aditional vibration or chatter from the adaptor. If your main work is deep hollowing, you may expereince some but on spindle work, bowls and boxes it is as solid and stable as threading directly onto the spindle nose.
